It’s been a crazy time with the private school holidays on since the 8th of August. I’ve been doing some really fun stuff with them and we’ve had a great time together.
Find it from Fairland has been neglacted however.
Since I have really been focussed on the kids, I thought I should just tell you a bit about what I do and give myself a bit of publicity too.
This is a new little venture for me. School holidays have now become a busy period. In August I added some more kids to my little list of new friends, this time doing a week of half-day sessions with the Meuller kids – Dominique and Oscar. It’s been kind of a temping thing while their mom was overseas on a conference, so it won’t be ongoing. I love the way this worked out because it brings wonderful variety to my experience and it’s just short term, so there is very little serious attachment and we just do the short sessions, have fun and then it’s over. This worked out beautifully as a model for a future holiday business.
My next step with this is to work on developing a few more lovely workshops to expand my repertoir. My group of kids has done the “teddy me” teddy bear workshop, we have been to the Zoo, we have done Color Cafe with some of them. Now it’s time to come up with some other ideas.
So from Fairlands, you can now get me to come in and do a 4 hour workshop with your kids, aged 4 to 10, where they will make their own teddy bear themselves.
And soon you will be able to choose from a variety of other projects for your kids to do or outings they can go on under my supervision. This is great for working parents who would like their kids to get out of the house during the holidays or have a workshop at home.
With the workshops, kids are entertained, they are learning about something new, they have something to take home afterwards and they are not sitting in front of the TV, Wii, computer for a few hours. It is good to add variety to their holidays.
This is a concept that will be expanded pretty quickly to accomodate my current group of kids and will later be available to others.
Time to get to work on creating the next workshop – felt wall pictures, bracelets, wands, famous buildings and more.
